Female Hair Loss Treatment

It is a natural tendency for women to focus more on their beauty as it is a combination of many factors ranging from their complexion, dresses, and hair style. When they face the problem of hair loss and dandruff, they can spend any amount of money to cure the problem. There are medicated treatments which can help women grow their hair back but some of these treatments have risky side effects. A natural female hair loss treatment can be just effective and cost a lot less.

1. One of the effective tips to grow hair faster naturally is to get your hair and scalp massaged every week. You can even undertake head massages on your own at home itself. All you have to do is to take any of the good quality essential oils for hair growth such as coconut oil or olive oil and warm it a bit. Next, using your finger tips, massage your scalp with the oil. Follow this up by wrapping your head with a towel soaked in hot water and later wriggled, for fifteen minutes so that the hair can get some steam. Leave the oil overnight and in the morning wash it as usual.

2. Aloe vera is nothing short of a miracle plant. It soothes sunburn, moisturizes skin, and even cleanses the body when taken internally. It should come as no surprise, then, that aloe is also touted for its hair-regrowth properties. The gel helps to stimulate the hair follicles and sooth the scalp, encouraging new hair growth.

3. Take some garlic cloves and drop them into one cup of milk and let it sit for one hour. This will allow the sulphur from the cloves to be released into the milk. It will also help eliminate some of the smell from the garlic. Apply the mixture onto your scalp and let it stay on for about 15 minutes and then rinse it off with lukewarm water.

4. As tension and anxiety have become a part of all our lives, we should learn to keep them under control by learning yoga and meditation as they are good stress-busters. High stress levels trigger hair fall thus learning to manage stress is very important.

5. An easy hair mask recipe is to mix two egg yolks in two tablespoons of yogurt and massage the scalp with this mixture. Leave it on for half an hour and then wash off. Another hair mask that is very beneficial for hair is made by mixing a cup of milk and a tablespoon of honey. For getting rid of dandruff, an effective hair mask is made by grinding fenugreek seeds which have been soaked overnight and leaving the paste on the scalp and hair, every time before shampooing for half an hour.

6. If you can stand the smell, apply onion or garlic juice before going to bed, and sleep on it. Slice a clove of garlic in half, and rub it on any balding areas. Squeeze juice from an onion, and do the same. For sensitive scalps, you may want to leave the treatment on for a half hour before shampooing. Always apply the garlic or onion with deep massaging motions to increase scalp circulation.

7. An African tea called rooibos which contains a large number of antioxidants can fight free radicals and also prevent hair loss. Green tea is another good antioxidant which can be applied on the scalp to prevent hair loss. It also has anti inflammatory qualities.

Itchy Scalp Hair Loss - Causes And Treatment

There are many reasons for itchy scalp. When it is mild, it is mostly because of severe chemicals in various hair products. These cause irritation. In most of the cases if you discontinue using them, it cures immediately. Apart from this there are other factors that contribute to itchiness in the scalp. You will need to treat it medically. The following are some causes for itchy scalp:

1) Dandruff: Like other areas, the skin on head also keeps shedding dead cells. When this shedding becomes abnormally excessive, you will find large dead skin flakes. These cause mild or moderate irritation and itching. This is called dandruff. This condition arises when you expose your head to extreme heat or cold weather. Even if dirty or dusty environment comes in contact with scalp that is oily it causes dandruff. To treat dandruff you must keep your head free of any dirt or oil. You can use shampoos specially meant to treat dandruff.

2) Head Lice: Mostly little children and school-going girls who have to tie their hair are faced with this problem. But, head lice can also occur in adults. The only symptom in this condition is unbearable itching. You do get medical powders and special shampoos to deal with nits or lice eggs. They are pretty effective. Products with Permethrine or Pyrethrins and Lindane or Malathion are affective in dealing with lice problem. You also get very finely toothed comb that are specially designed to remove lice. It is important that this condition is tackled at the earliest. The irritation is extreme when you suffer from lice. Children with such a problem should be treated at the earliest.

3) Contact Dermatitis: This condition happens when the scalp becomes sensitive to some hair products. At times you might face inflammation by using certain products like gels, creams, dyes and perm solutions. There could be a kind of allergy or rash on the skin. This happens if the product does not suit your skin. Mostly the problem ends when you stop using the product. Sometimes if it is a severe case, you might be advised to apply steroid creams for quick healing.

4) Seborrheic Dermatitis: This condition is a skin disorder that affects the scalp. The sebaceous glands go hyperactive and this leads to flaking, itching and hair loss. Anyone, irrespective of their gender could face this problem. However, it is more seen in young men. It is yet not proven what causes this disorder. Some factors like hormones and genes have been pointed though. It is also believed that another cause for this could be if one is sensitive to Malassezia - a kind of yeast. Medicated shampoo with ketoconazole, coal tar or salicylic acid will help to deal with this disorder.

5) Psoriasis: This is a skin problem in which the scalp forms thick plaques. Symptoms are similar to Seborrheic dermatitis that include red inflammation, flaking and itching. To deal with milder cases of this disorder, shampoos work well. For extreme cases medical treatment is required. Even phototherapy has helped psoriasis patients.

Tips:

1. Eating nutritious diet and taking a quality multi-vitamin supplement ( such as fish oil, iron, vit E, B complex and zinc) each day is important to promote healthy hair growth and stop hair loss.

2. Avoid the use of strong chemicals and harsh hair products on the hair because they can be responsible for your itchy scalp hair loss. That's why many people turn to natural health products methods as a natural way to get great results

3. Keep your scalp clean, free of excessive dirt and grease. This will help prevent hair loss and eliminate shedding of hair. Make sure your scalp has the optimum opportunity to flourish.

4. Another remedy is also very effective. After you shampoo your hair, apply undiluted apple cider vinegar directly to the scalp. Optionally, you can wait about 10 minutes and then rinse it off, but that is up to you. If you don't, though, your hair will smell like vinegar. This will decrease the number of dandruff and prevent itching.

There are many remedies for itchy scalp hair loss that can help you to treat your condition quickly and safely. You can research and choose which work best for your hair.

Chinese Medicine As A Hair Loss Treatment

Balancing the Yin and Yang to Treat Hair Loss

Ancient Chinese medicine has an ancient protocol for hair loss issues that begins with optimizing the balance of yin and yang in your body.

When you first start to experience hair loss that takes you by surprise, you may be dismayed to hear about some of the choices of hair loss treatmentsavailable: F D A approved medications to take as long as you want to keep hair loss at bay, surgical methods of replacing hair lost, and non-surgical hair systems. But for those of you who are accustomed to trying and using different alternative therapies to treat your health issues, traditional Chinese medicine is worth a try.

Is Chinese medicine for me?

*I want to try non-surgical, non-pharmaceutical, natural remedies

*I believe in the ancient wisdom of eastern Chinese medicine

*I believe in a whole-body approach to my health

*I am familiar with taking herbs or being treated with acupuncture

*I rely on alternative therapies for my health issues

How does Chinese medicine work?

Dr. Bong Kim, founder of Emperor's College of Traditional Oriental Medicine in Santa Monica, C.A., explains, "The yin and yang energies in your body must be balanced otherwise negative health effects can occur. If yang energy is too much, one loses hair -- a deficiency in the kidneys can also cause hair loss and both cause 'heat' in the body to rise until hair falls out and does not grow back. Acupuncture helps to get rid of the heat and amplify yin energy in certain kidney meridians. And there is an ancient Chinese herbal formula called Seven Treasures for Beautiful Hair which does the same thing inside the body, but we can add herbs to it specifically for each person's situation." Chinese medicine practitioners believe that the condition of your hair follicles is directly related to your blood toxicity, so organs responsible for cleansing the blood, like kidneys, will be checked for deficiencies.

What can I expect from Chinese medicine?

A consultation with a Traditional Chinese medicine doctor will likely be interesting to uncover what is causing 'excess heat,' or yang energy, to build up in your body. Dr. Kim says that actually, excesses of anything cause too much heat, especially overeating. "I have found that hair loss usually corresponds with overeating, so we will work on reducing stomach function to help with hair loss, and we will work to restore balance to your body." You can take your herbal formula prescription by pill or by tea as prescribed by your practitioner and each formula will be specifically customized for your own personal yin and yang imbalance as well as any deficiencies uncovered in the consultation because, as Dr. Kim says, "heat only causes more heat." Anyone with overeating problems will also be counseled on a new, slower, calmer way to eat to further reduce heat to increase the yin energy. Excess amounts of animal fats and proteins along with excess sweets especially can create the heat that rises to the top of the head causing hair to fall out so they will be exchanged for fresh fruit and vegetables which keep the energy inside allowing follicles to hold on to hair roots.

Acupuncturist Robert Luna of Blue Deer Healing in Los Angeles and "Acupuncturist to the Stars" warns that Westerners typically lack the patience required to see results of natural healing. "Chinese medicine differs from Western medicine in that we treat the cause of ailments, not just the symptoms." Luna, himself a graduate of Emperor's College, explains that Chinese medicine "asks a lot of the patients" but ultimately delivers better, longer-lasting results. "Even if you promise someone that their hair will grow back if they meticulously take their herbs, change their diet and come in for acupuncture treatments, most would rather take hardcore chemicals like Propecia. But that's the thing about Chinese medicine," he says. "The 'doing' and the commitment to your regimen is all part of the medicine."

Complications Chinese medicine as a hair loss treatment

Inform your practitioner if you are allergic to any specific herbs. If you respond to alternative therapies and follow your practitioner's full prescription for improving your yin/yang energy balance, you should see some noticeable results within 4-6 months along with a noticeable improvement in overall health!

The bottom line on Chinese medicine as a hair loss treatment

This type of treatment works best in those who have the time and patience to follow the practitioner's plan exactly, to provide a whole body approach to their hair loss.

Find a Chinese medicine practitioner

Take your time to interview and consult with several practitioners and ask about their beliefs and experiences solving hair loss issues. Ask about their training and education. Ask for testimonials from other hair loss patients.
